The Perfect Quinoa Does Exist

Keanu, Joaquin, or however you say it!

We buy our quinoa at Costco because we eat a lot of it, and have ruined a lot of it! we’re here to tell you whatever the bag tells you to do is WRONG! We repeat, WRONG!

We have finally figured out the right ratios, and cooking method to make the most perfect, fluffy quinoa every time.

First, The bag will say 2 parts liquid to 1 part quinoa - this leaves my quinoa mushy in a pool of water every time. It should be 1 3/4 parts liquid to 1 part quinoa. Second, they leave out the toasting part - I like to toast the quinoa in the pan first to bring out a more nutty flavor. Finally, the cooking method the bag suggests is to bring to a boil, then to a simmer and to cover, and then leave covered and turn off the heat. This takes way too long, and again - mushy quinoa! The best way to do it is to leave uncovered, add the liquid and just simmer until it is absorbed and the quinoa is perfectly cooked!
